On January 30, 2026, the Narva-Jõesuu Port Foundation and BlueRay OÜ signed a contract for the development of the Narva-Jõesuu virtual tour as a result of a public tender.
Based on the contract, OÜ BlueRay will create a modern and meaningful virtual reality tour for Narva-Jõesuu, consisting of several thematic scenes and offering visitors an interactive and engaging experience. The virtual tour will take visitors on a journey through different eras, revealing the story of Narva-Jõesuu through maritime history and shipping. Using the possibilities of virtual reality, visitors can experience the history of the region, underwater views and historical events in a way that is both immersive and educational.
OÜ BlueRay has long experience in developing virtual and augmented reality solutions for cultural, tourism and educational projects. The company’s work includes VR and multimedia solutions for museums, exhibitions and tourist sites, including projects dedicated to the historical heritage of Ida-Viru County, such as virtual tours “Toila 1938” and “Mysterious Sillamäe”. Such an experience allows for the creation of a meaningful and technically high-quality solution that meets the modern expectations of visitors.
The use of virtual reality creates the opportunity to experience places and stories that are not traditionally accessible – be it underwater wrecks, historic ships or centuries-old trade routes.
“The VR solution that is being created will place the history of Narva-Jõesuu in a broader context, and will highlight connections with the world’s names. We believe that this will be an exciting experience of discovery, which will bring joy of recognition to both domestic and foreign tourists,” emphasises Egle Rääsk, representative of OÜ BlueRay.
“The virtual tour will help to highlight the specificity of our region and strengthen the sense of home of local residents,” says Natalia Orava, Development Specialist of Narva-Jõesuu City Government.
The work on the Virtual Tour should be completed by the end of 2026. 12. The first working meeting between the client and the developer took place on 17 February, during which the details of the virtual tour concept, the main thematic scenes and the schedule for further work were discussed.
The upcoming virtual tour will enrich Narva-Jõesuu’s tourism services, offering new opportunities for both leisure and education. Aimed at individual visitors, families and school groups, the virtual tour will support the development of Narva-Jõesuu as an attractive and innovative tourist destination.
The development of the virtual tour will be carried out within the framework of the project “Development of the waterways network and tourism business in the Ida-Viru region”. The project is funded by the European Union Cohesion Policy Fund under the measure “Attractive regional business and living environment”, the support measure for the implementation of regional development strategies and the partners’ budget.
