On the basis of § 18(1) and (2) of the Regulation of the Minister of State Administration No 25 of 07.05.2019 “Support measure for the implementation of county development strategies” and taking into account the list of projects with the right to apply for funding approved by the State Support Services Centre on 28.09.2022, the State Support Services Centre decided on 31.05.2023 to approve the project application “Development of Narva-Jõesuu harbour and the riverside territory into an attractive attraction centre”.
The aim of the project is to increase the attractiveness of the Narva-Jõesuu harbour and the riverfront area by developing a new representative field and its surroundings. Today, the area between the harbour and the city administration building is undeveloped, underused and lacks coherence and integration. The project foresees the design and planning of a holistic solution for the representative square of the city of Narva-Jõesuu and the surrounding area. The design included a landscaping vision and a spatial programme that provides a holistic picture of the area to be developed.
The project area is located in the city of Narva-Jõesuu in Ida-Viru County. The project area covers a significant part of the city centre and is bounded by Jaan Poska, Suur-Lootsi and Koidu streets, and also includes the Narva river bank, which has a high recreational value.
At the basic design stage, the spatial positioning of the representative field zone, the urban inventory and the stage, as well as the part of the Suur-Lootsi tn driveway, parking and paving have been solved. Water supply and sewerage, electricity supply and surveillance cameras have been designed for the elements of the square. In the Kalda tn 2 or beach zone, recreational paths, playgrounds, fixtures and fittings and landscaping have been provided.
The design work was carried out by K-Projekt AS.
The project is supported by the measure for the implementation of the development strategies of the counties for an amount of 98 688,90 euros, plus the city’s own contribution of 32 896,30 euros. Project implementation period: 2022-2024.
